Ghetto currency used in Theresienstadt
To hide their confiscation of Jewish assets, the Nazis established a bank in Theresienstadt and printed ghetto currency, creating an illusion that Jews deported there were still in possession of their bank accounts. The currency was worthless everywhere except in the ghetto, where goods were severely rationed and inmates starved, tortured, and killed.
