Flag used by the German American Bund, a Nazi support organization. Circa 1937
The German American Bund was a Nazi support group founded in June 1932 under the name of Friends of the New Germany and later renamed Amerika-Deutscher Volksbund (German American Bund). Its membership, which numbered between 20,000 and 25,000, consisted mainly of German immigrants to the United States. Although never a serious threat to the American government, it was influential enough to hold two rallies in Madison Square Garden in New York City. One took place on May 17, 1934 and the second on February 20, 1939. Both drew an attendance of thousands of people.
