Anti-Defamation League (ADL)
The ADL was launched in 1913 in response to rampant anti-Semitism and discrimination against Jews. Many things have changed for the better since then, such as discrimination in the workplace, but many things remain the same. Bigotry affects many groups. Hatemongers cause emotional pain, physical injury, property destruction and even death. The mission of ADL today is to expose and combat hatred, to oppose all forms of discrimination against all groups of people.
Hatikvah uses the ADL program “A World of Difference” for classes. This program provides hands-on training to help children and adults challenge prejudice and discrimination and learn to live and work successfully and civilly in an increasingly diverse world.
From time to time Hatikvah offers a day long teacher's workshop in partnership with ADL based on their "Echoes and Reflections" curriculum and our permanent exhibit. Please see our future workshops page for the next class.
