Yom HaShoah  May 5, 2005         Remembering Auschwitz-Birkenau

A Community Memorial Service took place on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at Congregation B’Nai Jacob   2 Eunice Drive  Longmeadow, MA.

2005 was the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp, Auschwitz/Birkenau.  The theme of the Yom Hashoah program was “Remembering Auschwitz/Birkenau”.

An original musical composition entitled “Journey Through Night” composed by Harold Berman and music from the Makhela Chorus were featured.

As is done every year, a candle lighting ceremony took place and traditional memorial prayers were said.
