Grand
Opening of Permanent Exhibit, “A Reason to Remember” and
temporary exhibit “The Nazi Olympics: Berlin 1936”
Hatikvah Holocaust Education Center and the Basketball Hall of Fame formed
a partnership to mark the opening of our permanent exhibit, “A Reason
to Remember; Roth, Germany 19333-1942” and a temporary
exhibit, “The Nazi Olympics: Berlin 1936”.
The Nazi Olympics came to the Hall of Fame courtesy of the United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. for its only appearance in
New England.
Hitler used the
1936 Olympics as a world stage to promote a united Nazi
Germany that in truth had at it's core one supreme race and world
domination. The Eleventh Olympiad became a hotbed of international
political controversy as the world watched the growth of racism and the
persecution of the Jews.
