Kristallnacht   November 9, 2005        Nostra Aetate

This year's commemoration coincided with the 40th Anniversary of Nostra Aetate, the Vatican document written in 1965 that transformed the relationship between the Jewish Community and the Roman Catholic church.

Keynote speaker was Father John Pawlikowski, who devoted his life to Catholic/Jewish dialogue.  The program took place in the main auditorium at Elms College.  It was a collaboration between Hatikvah, Elms College, the Interfaith Clergy Council of Springfield, and the Community Relations Committee of Springfield Jewish Federation.
The commemoration also included a brief prayer service with readings by Christian, Jewish and Muslim clergy and music by Christian, Jewish and Muslim teenagers.
