Judge Sidney Cooley’s Story

Among the new artifacts added to the collection at Hatikvah, was the award Judge Sidney Cooley received from grateful Displaced Persons at the end of World War II.   He found housing for nearly 300 Holocaust survivors and assisted in training them to do agricultural work in preparation for immigration to Palestine.  Many pictures from that camp are also included in the display.

Judge Cooley shared his intriguing story as the featured speaker at the beginning of the Open House on November 5, 2006. More about Judge Cooley's story.
