The Nazi Olympics:Berlin 1936

Nazi Olympics From October 19, 2004 to January 31, 2005 Hatikvah Holocaust Education Center and the Basketball Hall of Fame partnered to open our permanent exhibit, “A Reason to Remember: Roth, Germany 1933-1942” and the temporary exhibit, “The Nazi Olympics: Berlin 1936”  The second exhibit came to the Basketball Hall of Fame courtesy of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. for its only appearance in New England.

Hitler used the 1936 Olympics as a world stage to promote a united Nazi Germany that in truth had at it’s core one supreme race and world domination.   The eleventh Olympiad became a hotbed of international political controversy as the world watched the growth of racism and the persecution of Jews.
