Teacher training workshops
Hatikvah offers a variety of teacher training workshops on the history and lessons of the Holocaust as well as related subjects such as the experience of immigrants and minorities with prejudice and discrimination; gender bias; ethnocide; genocide; anti-Semitism; homophobia and bullying.
All workshops are Professional Development Point (PDP) accredited in Massachusetts. Teachers may also receive university credit for their participation in workshops at Hatikvah.
A special Teacher’s Guide has been created for “A Reason to Remember” to assist instructors in preparing their students for visiting the exhibit. It contains background information on the material in the exhibit, some learning activities that can be done in the classroom in advance of the tour, two structured ways of touring the exhibition itself, and some follow-up and debriefing activities. There is also a special chronology of the Holocaust that provides a context for the exhibit, a bibliography and videography, and some frequently asked questions and answers about the Holocaust.
For information about credit: please contact Rabbi Robert Sternberg
